About The River Blenders Chorus

The River Blenders Chorus is a membership organization of female singers, who meet regularly to practice, perform, socialize, and have fun. We currently have over 70 singers of all ages, all walks of life, and all parts of the St. Louis Metropolitan area and beyond.

Our Director

Master Director Diane Huber has been a member

Sweet Adelines for over 35 years.  She is

recognized worldwide as a music educator,

international quartet champion, international board

member, past president of Sweet Adelines

International, regional education manager as well

as Region 5 Hall of Fame Award winner.

Performance

The River Blenders Chorus performs in an annual show, a number of community events, and at an annual competitions. We also perform Singing Telegrams around Valentines Day and Singing Holiday Cards in December. We are available to sing at your next function or event. If you're looking for a unique musical experience to liven up your event, please check out our Hire Us section.

Education

In addition to sharing our music with others, another great passion of ours is learning more about the art of acapella singing. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals, and a very important component of the chorus experience. A couple of times a year, we will get coaching from a visiting master in the art of barbershop, where we learn many fabulous tricks of the trade.

Our chorus also values education of area youth and so once a year the chorus holds a Young Women in Harmony Festival in which young girls from all over the St. Louis Metropolitan area and beyond come for a day of education and singing in the barborshop style. They spend the day learning 2-3 songs and learn choreography and dance moves to fit the lyrics and then they get to perform those songs that evening for their family and friends.

CompetitionIn the spring of every year, River Blenders Chorus participates in the Region 5 chorus competition in Springfield, IL. Competitions are a special time for quartets and choruses from our region to come together to sing for each other, and get some constructive feedback from a panel of judges. The winners of the regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories get to travel to International Competition, which is held in the fall in a city selected each year. Click here to learn more.

Quartets

Most choruses have a number of members who form their own vocal quartets in addition to singing with the chorus. River Blenders Chorus currently is home to a number of wonderful quartets, and we are very proud of them! Click here to see our quartet section to learn more about them.
