About The River Blenders Chorus

The River Blenders Chorus is a membership organization of female singers, who meet weekly to practice, perform, socialize, and have fun. We currently have over 70 singers of all ages, all walks of life, and from all parts of the St. Louis Metropolitan area and beyond.

Our Director

Master Director Diane Huber has been a member

of Sweet Adelines for over 35 years.  She is

recognized worldwide as a music educator,

international quartet champion, international board

member, past president of Sweet Adelines

International, regional education manager as well

as Region 5 Hall of Fame Award winner.

Performance

The River Blenders Chorus performs at a number of community events, self-produced shows and annual competitions.  We are available to sing at your next function or event. If you're looking for a unique musical experience to liven up your event, please check out our Hire Us section.

Education

In addition to sharing our music with others, another great passion of ours is learning more about the art of acapella singing. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals, and a very important component of the chorus experience. A couple times a year, we receive coaching from a visiting master in the art of barbershop, where we learn many fabulous tricks of the trade.

Because our chorus values education of area youth, we hold annual Young Women in Harmony clinics.  Girls in the St. Louis Metropolitan area and beyond join us and skilled clinicians for a day of fun, education and singing in the barborshop style. They spend the day learning two or three songs along with choreography to fit the lyrics before performing later that day for their families and friends.

CompetitionIn the spring of every year, the River Blenders Chorus participates in the Sweet Adelines International Midwest Gateway Region 5 chorus competition in Springfield, IL. Competitions are much anticipated events for choruses and quartets to come together, and to get evaluatative feedback on their performances from a panel of judges. The winners of the regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories compete at the international convention, which is held yearly in the fall.  Previous international competitions have been held in Houston, Seattle, Nashville, Honolulu, and Calgary. Click here to learn more.

Quartets

Most choruses have a number of members who form their own quartets in addition to singing with the chorus. The River Blenders Chorus is currently home for several wonderful quartets, and we are very proud of them! Click here to see our quartet section and learn more about them.
